What is Kalpulli?

Kalpulli, which means council on Nauatl, is the original language of the Mexica. We decided to coin our program this because we feel that our communities are in desperate need of a council that can organize, and most importantly, bring positive change into young peoples lives. Kalpulli fights for the rights of Latinos and people of color who are struggling with oppression and discrimination. We strongly believe in the notion of self-determination and fighting for social justice. The program gives youth the necessary tools to become leaders and critical thinkers, which enables them to solve their own problems and create change.
